FAQs

Q. What is DGIQ? And what is EDW?

A. The Data Governance & Information Quality Conference (DGIQ) is the world’s most comprehensive event dedicated entirely to Data Governance and Information Quality, and Enterprise Data World (EDW) has long been recognized as the most comprehensive educational conference on Data Management. In the Spring of 2025 and 2026, we combined these industry-leading conferences to offer an unparalleled learning experience. And, in Spring of 2027, we’re doing it again at one of our most loved venues: The Catamaran Resort Hotel and Spa.

Q. When and where will this event take place?

A. Our next DGIQ + EDW will take place April 12-16, 2027, at The Catamaran Resort Hotel and Spa in San Diego, CA.

Q. Can you tell me more about the conference venue?

A. The Catamaran Resort Hotel and Spa is a Polynesian-inspired waterfront escape on Mission Bay, just steps from Pacific Beach. Surrounded by lush gardens, koi ponds, and tropical wildlife, the resort features spacious rooms with private balconies, a heated pool, water sports rentals, and both casual and fine dining options available on-site. This laid-back, relaxing resort is a perfect place for attendees to unwind after a day of education, discovery, and networking.

Q. What makes this event so special?

A. DATAVERSITY events are more than just regular business conferences – they’re an ongoing community and network of data professionals from across the globe. We continue to focus our events on educational programs that emphasize peer-to-peer learning through case studies, practical experience, and in-person networking.

Now, with DGIQ again joining forces with EDW, we’re bringing even more insights and actionable strategies together for people just like you – those ready to take their data-driven organizations to the next level!

Q. Why combine DGIQ and EDW?

A. With such a large overlap between the topics of the most-loved sessions at DGIQ and EDW, we decided to combine these two great events under one roof. Combining DGIQ and EDW gives us the chance to combine the best of both worlds while giving you a chance to network and share solutions with a wider range of data practitioners.

Q. Who attends?

A. Good question! In terms of industries, every major sector of the economy is represented, though the largest industry groups are usually financial services, insurance, health care, online commerce, and government. The range of job titles and functions is also very diverse, including chief data officers, VP and director-level IT executives, data architects, analysts, auditors, and consultants. And increasingly, this DGIQ event attracts managers from “the business side,” who now make up almost 50% of the audience.

Q. How do I get to speak at the conference?

A. Most of the sessions are selected through a Call for Presentations (CFP) process, which is open now at this link. Submit your proposal by November 20.

Additionally, some sessions, such as Keynotes and Panels, are developed through specific invitations to the speakers. There are also some vendor speaking sessions that are identified on the program agenda as “sponsored.”

Q. How do I become a sponsor?

A. Reach out to Shannon Kempe and download our event prospectus for more information on how to become a sponsor for this event.

Q. How do I book a hotel room?

A. Learn about the hotel, parking, and transportation on our Travel Page.

Q. Does my registration include meals?

A. Yes! Breakfast and lunch are included Monday through Thursday for your dates of registration. Breakfast is provided Friday morning, but lunch will not be provided that day, since sessions conclude at 12:00pm Friday. Dinner is not included any day.

Q. What takes place each day?

A. We kick off with Half-Day Tutorials on Monday morning and afternoon (April 12).

The Conference Program (including Conference Sessions and Keynotes) takes place Tuesday-Wednesday (April 13-14). That is also when you can join our sponsors on the exhibit floor!

And we end the week with Full-Day Tutorials taking place Thursday (April 15) or 2-Day Seminars taking place Thursday-Friday (April 15-16).

Q. What's the difference between the Thursday Full-Day Tutorial and Seminar?

A. Your registration option will include either a Full-Day Tutorial (taking place Thursday only) or a 2-Day Seminar (taking place Thursday-Friday). It will not include both. If you’re unsure which you'd like to attend or which registration option to select, please email registration@dataversity.net.

Q. Any recommendations for things to do while I’m in San Diego?

A. Check out other must-see sights and activities on our Travel Page.

Q. Will my registration include access to any recorded sessions?

A. All in-person registrants* receive access to DATAVERSITY Training Center's Essential Subscription for one year, which includes any sessions recorded at this event and previous face-to-face conference presentations + webinars, podcast episodes, product demos, case studies, and online conferences, as well as the complete catalog of “What Is…” on-demand courses, and all related insider content.

Essential Subscription access, including any videos recorded at DGIQ + EDW, will be shared app. 2-3 weeks after the conference ends.

*Applicable to all in-person registrations with the exception of the Exhibit Booth Pass registration option.

Q. What sessions will be recorded?

A. We typically record Keynotes and many of the Conference Sessions and Product Sessions. We do not record longer-form content like Tutorials. We'll finalize the number of tracks we record in the coming months.

Q. What if I can't attend in person?

A. We offer three non-attendee subscription options via our Registration Page. These options include access to any sessions recorded at the event, so you can watch on demand in the comfort of your home or office! Subscription access will be shared via email app. 2-3 weeks after the event.

Q. I received the offer of a paid attendee list. Is this authentic?

A. No, DATAVERSITY does not rent or sell email lists to third parties - see our privacy policy for details. Even if a message uses our logo or claims to be from DATAVERSITY staff, we are not the source of these lists or messages.

This is a common scam across large industry conferences and trade shows. Scammers typically build these lists using web crawlers or "scraper" programs that pull email addresses from sites like LinkedIn and Facebook — a practice that's illegal in most countries but still widespread.

If you receive an email offering a DGIQ + EDW attendee list, please don't respond, even to unsubscribe. Responding confirms your email address is active, which can lead to more unwanted contact.

Q. I received a call or email offering help booking my hotel. Is this authentic?

A. No, any company claiming to be the "official" DGIQ + EDW housing partner, offering special non-refundable rates, and asking for credit card information is a scam. Do not engage. To book your room at the conference hotel, please use our Venue/Travel page. No one from the Catamaran Resort Hotel and Spa will ever call you directly to offer bookings or discounts.

Q. What if my question wasn't answered above?

A. For registration questions, email registration@dataversity.net. For all other queries, email events@dataversity.net.
